Discover 45 years of power semiconductor excellence — from Swiss BBC heritage to the Silicon Carbide technology driving tomorrow’s e-Mobility and power grids.

MNE 2026 participants are invited to a special post-conference guided visit of Hitachi Energy’s power semiconductor facility in Lenzburg on Friday, 25 September 2026.

The two-hour factory tour will take participants through one of Hitachi Energy’s advanced, highly automated semiconductor production sites, covering frontend and backend manufacturing for both silicon (Si) and silicon carbide (SiC).

Visitors will learn how technologies developed and manufactured in Lenzburg contribute to HVDC transmission, grid stabilization and rail transportation, and will see where RoadPak™ SiC power modules for electric vehicles, e-buses and Formula E applications are produced.

The Lenzburg site traces its semiconductor heritage back to BBC in 1981 and today plays a role in Hitachi and Hitachi Energy’s global electrification activities.
